The location of Sargodha district and its subsequent Tehsil of Bhera are important from a historical, geographical, religious and cultural point of view. The town of Bhera has witnessed various important events and campaigns in its history. The ancient as well as the modern city are located next to the river Jhelum. These events are mentioned in tales, rawayaat’s and stories dating back to before Anno Domini (AD). The influence of the Mughal Emperors, Sher Shah Suri and the British Raj can still be felt while observing the architecture, culture and heritage of the town. The influence and culture of non-muslims such as Hindus and Sikhs is also visible. The buildings, monuments, gates, culture, artefacts and heritage make Bhera an interesting place to visit.
The history of Bhera is chronicled with the conduct of events and campaigns related to political, historical and national aspects. The participation of both muslims and non-muslims personalities has been chronicled in history. These personalities served selflessly and have gained prominence and respect. One such group of individuals is the Bugvi family which has been serving Islamic propagation, teachings, values and unity in the locality and surroundings since 18th century. The family tree originates from the respected Maulana Noor Hayat Bugvi. The family with the help of the community and team members is still serving Bhera today. The family conducts social, religious and welfare activities for the population focusing especially on the weaker section of society in Bhera. These service are channeled and organized through two organizations namely Majlis Hizb ul Ansar and Al-Iftikhar Bugvia Foundation.
For a focused and cohesive management of these organizations the vision statement established for stakeholders is:
“To serve Islam and Humanity through cooperation of the well-wishing people”
